2023 Q1 Team Updates

Take a look back at our Q1 achievements of 2023

2023 has been very busy here at Rally Cry achieving several significant milestones in Q1. Our operations, engineering, and sales teams have been hard at work in their respective areas to continue to deliver high-quality experiences for our players and partners on our platforms. With Q2 currently underway and some breathing room, we wanted to spend some time to reflect and share what we’ve accomplished in the first quarter of the year:

Riot Games

We kicked off the year with another Riot Games partnership to broadcast the North American Challengers League (NACL) 2023 season every week from late January to early April. The NACL 2023 season had over 2 million unique viewers tuning in to watch some of the best up-and-coming players in North America compete. Our team also operated and broadcasted the NACL Qualifiers where amateur teams would compete for a chance to qualify into the main NACL season.

In addition to the League of Legends esports ecosystem, we also wrapped up the Winter and Spring seasons of the College VALORANT (CVAL) 2022-2023 Season for the South Region which featured over 1,181 students competing for the chance at scholarship prizing and title of CVAL Champions. The entire 2022-2023 season was a huge success as we were able to integrate VALORANT in-game stats and login capabilities into our platform which allowed for an excellent player experience. We’d like to thank the entire RSAA team at Riot Games for being such an amazing partner to work with throughout the season.

Air Force Gaming

From January to March, we operated the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Gaming League Spring 2023 Season for our longest partner, Air Force Gaming! This season featured high-stake competitions in Overwatch 2, Modern Warfare 2, and Rocket League. The DAF Gaming League seasons continue to provide a fun and exciting environment for Airmen and Guardians around the world to showcase their skills for a chance to compete in person against other service branches.

In addition to the competitive pillar within Air Force Gaming, we also supported 9 on-base events around the world through their Base Support program! The Base Support program allows for gaming ambassadors local to their base of station to apply and receive support from the Air Force Gaming/Rally Cry team through merchandise packages, event consultation, and broadcast operations.

Collegiate Programs

In Q1, we were heavily involved with various collegiate esports programs. Firstly, we completed the Pi Kapp Gaming League Spring 2023 Season for the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. The season featured 4 individual tournaments in Smash Ultimate, Fortnite, Rocket League, and Apex Legends which resulted in their most successful season with 197 community members registering for the tournaments.

Secondly, we partnered up with Charter Communications to begin preparations for the Spectrum Collegiate Gaming Challenge which will be taking place in Q2. The Spectrum Collegiate Gaming Challenge is a 2-day tournament featuring Fortnite 2v2, Rocket League 3v3, and Smash Ultimate Solos for collegiate students across the US to compete for over $3,000 in cash prizing in each title!

Lastly, we hosted 3 Challenger Series events on behalf of LevelNext. Through the Challenger Series program, we work with individual school athletics departments to host a 1-day competition and broadcast for their local student communities to compete against one another.

Platform Milestones

The Rally Cry platform now supports internal chat rooms for Communities, Competitions, Parties, and Matches. All of these can still sync their members in real time with a Discord channel (allowing for seamless secure Discord integration), but for organizers who prefer to keep everything on a single platform the Rally Cry internal chat is a great solution offering all of the same features.

Rally Cry communities have been overhauled with the goal of being much more intuitive for users to set up and manage.

A user's state within a competition is complex, they may have players missing a required form for their team eligibility, they may have an upcoming match or check-in date. The competition page has been reworked to help guide players through any of the 32 different states they may currently be in to help guide their next steps from finalizing their roster to collecting their winnings.

Whether you’re looking to host a game night, or looking to find one. Our Party Finder feature is being released for periods of time to beta users so that we can fine tune our ‘Looking for Group’, and ‘Looking for More’ system to help users find people within their communities to game with easier.

In conclusion, Rally Cry has had an impressive start to 2023, achieving several significant milestones in Q1. Its ongoing partnerships with Riot Games and Air Force Gaming demonstrate its expertise in tournament operations and production. Our engineering team continues to develop exceptional and industry-leading technology to enhance the competitive and community experiences for our users

We can’t wait to share what else we’ve been cooking as we wrap up this quarter!
